Neck Lift

A neck lift helps reduce visible signs of aging on the jaw line and neck, as well as diminish the appearance caused by various other factors.

A lower face lift can reduce the visible signs of aging in both the jawline and neck area. Additionally, this procedure helps to diminish the effects of gravity, sun damage, smoking, and stress on one's countenance.

In addition to a neck lift, other anti-aging procedures include eyebrow elevation, eyelid enhancement, fat grafting and fixing downturned or furrowed brows.

How is Neck Lift Surgery Performed?

Neck lift surgery can be performed with either general or local anesthesia. When general anesthesia is used, the patient is kept asleep and at ease throughout the process, involving tightening of the neck muscles, removal of excess skin and fat, and closure of incisions. On the other hand, local anesthesia keeps the patient conscious but relaxed as small incisions are made around the ear, behind and beneath the chin.

Non-surgical rejuvenation treatments are an alternative to neck lift surgery, providing less dramatic effects but increasing the duration of the results when used in tandem with the procedure.

What Happens After Neck Lift Surgery?

  • The patient is supervised by doctors at the hospital for a 24-hour period following the procedure.
  • Following the procedure, the patient may experience some tension in their neck area, although the pain is unlikely to be particularly uncomfortable.
  • It may take around two weeks for bruises and pain to dissipate, however, swelling can take up to three months until it completely fades away.
  • It is important to take precautions during the critical first few weeks of healing, such as refraining from lifting heavy items. This advice applies to both children and pets too.
